No A/C Leads To Olivia's First Pool Experience

Since our A/C 's out we headed over to my parents last night to sleep and spend Memorial Day...the repair guy's coming first thing on Tuesday, but we're going to head home tonight since it's supposed to cool off a little. Olivia took on the pool for the first time today!!! I didn't know how she would react...it's didn't go as bad as I thought it might.

She's pretty unsure about the whole thing...I think she probably feel likes she's falling, but when she feels secure she does really well. I started with her on the steps, then had to pick her up and then Chad took her in...she did ok...then we tried out the float Granny got her and she would be ok and then her weight would shift and a little crying would follow...all in all, not bad and I think after a few more times she's really going to like it.

We're going to try it again later in the week, but in the meantime I'm going to try and fill up the little pool I got for our house for her to practice a little.

Cards vs Cubs Chicago Style -- Kyle's Bachelor Party!

Yes, you read the right...I went to Kyle's bachelor party...actually, I planned Kyle's bachelor party since I am his Best woMan.
Uncle Kyle...the Man of the day

How excited is Olivia!

Looking at the calendar I tried to figure out what would work with Kyle's schedule and for all of us...Memorial Day weekend just happened to be the Cardinals vs the Cubbies in Chi-Town...I thought this would be a great idea and Kyle agreed, so I started trying to figure out how in the world I would be able to get 14 tickets together in the stadium and then my brother reminded me about all the rooftops...so, I started emailing the companies and sure enough I was able to find one that had enough tickets for all of us.

Olivia with Daddy waiting to get on the train

It was a beautiful, sunny, 80 degree day in Chicago and we had the pleasure of sitting in right field in an all you could eat and drink building. For those of you not familiar with the set up, the Cubs stadium is pretty small and surrounding the stadium in the right and left fields are numerous 3-4 story apartment buildings...the top floor is turned into a bar and the rooftop has bleachers and a bar set up on top...it's a great idea and a wonderful view of the game!!!
Kyle with Clay and Ryan --- Post game, hence the big smiles!

Yes, we had Cub fans with us...The Sweeney's!!!

Jeff and Jim post-game at McFadden's
Olivia on the train with Grandpa...she LOVES her Baby Bjorn to put it mildly!

Unfortunately the Cards weren't able to pull off a win, but we all had a great time!!!

Olivia the morning after...can you say a little tuckered out!!!

Congratulations Kyle...your "big day" will be here before you know it!

Liz and Mike's Wedding!!!

What a beautiful day...70's and sunny!!! Liz looked absolutely stunning and her dress, hair and accessories looked just like her.

The reception that followed couldn't have been nicer...their cake was UNBELIEVABLE...strawberry shortcake and chocolate covered strawberries...WOW!!! Everything was so nice and you could see the water from across the street on the terrace. My mom and I were also able to enjoy the celebration since Liz had a sitter to watch her cousins and Olivia...thank you so much, Liz!!!

Check out this cake! It's was just as delicious as it was beautiful!

Yes, those are the chocolate strawberries from the cake!

Cape Cod!!!

Olivia, my mom and I traveled to Cape Cod for Liz and Mike's wedding on the 20th of June...again, Miss O was a PERFECT traveler...We always fly Southwest when we can for several reasons, the main one being we can take 2 bags without being charged. HOWEVER on the last two flights we had with them they were kind enough to let us bring Olivia's car seat onboard since they had a handful of empty seats...I couldn't believe it!

This was the first time for all of us to travel to the Cape...we stayed in Hyannis and the first day when went down to Hyannis Port for a bite...Spanky's was suggested by the hotel and it was awesome...clam chowder and fried scallops...YUM!!! Olivia was a big hit with the waitresses...she's started moving her feet when music comes on and she always has a big smile for everyone she meets.

A trip to Cape Cod wouldn't be complete without this!

The first night we went to Il Primo for some pizza with several people and on Friday we took a tour all the way out to Wellfleet and back...it was all beautiful! That evening we had the rehearsal and a wonderful dinner at Yarmouth House.

Saturday was the wedding (couldn't have been more beautiful and another post coming for that day) and reception at the Sea View across the street from the ocean...it was a wonderful day with good friends!!! We wouldn't have missed the event!

Chad can't wait to see Cape Cod (on the list of places he'd like to go), so we'll be back sooner rather than later to see Mike and Liz!

Olivia's First Playdate With Sophie

My friend Jean came over with her little girl, Sophie, today for lunch....we had a great time catching up and I think Olivia and Sophie enjoyed meeting each other. Olivia hasn't been around "people" her size very often, so it's funny to see her reaction and Sophie has a little sister on the way in about 10 weeks...she really like playing with Olivia! I also realized that my house is NOT baby proof at all...THANK YOU Sophie for letting me know I need to work on that sooner rather than later or Miss O is going to teach me the hard way what's NOT child friendly! ;)

How cute is Sophie...she's 15 months

Olivia was very curious about Sophie

A little tired out after the visit
