Red Sox Spring Training Practice

Today was Olivia's first day with daddy here...she was so excited to see him this morning she couldn't even eat all of her bottle at once...she just kept staring at him, laughing and smiling!

Once we all got ready to go we headed up to Ft. Myers to watch the Red Sox practice...they all came in this week so it was perfect timing! Thank goodness we got there early, the players had a golf tournament this afternoon and were leaving 2 hours early. Chad got to watch a solid hour of batting practice and Olivia slept the whole time. It was defintely a good time and something we'd never done...we all wished it had been the Cardinals though ;)

Bus ride over to the practice fields...we parked at the stadium and then they shuttle everyone 2 miles to the fields.

Olivia taking in batting practice...taking her nap was what she was really doing ;)

"Big Poppy" and his little boy

Tonight we're having the Ritchey's over! I can't wait to see them --- Leah's expecting Baby Ritchey #2 and I haven't seen Adrey in almost a year; he's so darn cute!

Day 3 --- Thursday, Daddy Comes!

Olivia slept 4.5 hours last night...hard time getting back to sleep, but I'm hoping tonight goes a little better :)

I've been telling Olivia all week how many more sleeps until daddy gets here...today I told her when she's goes to sleep tonight her daddy will be here when she wakes up! She laughed at me so I'd like to think that she knew what I was saying ;)

Tonight my family went to dinner...just the four of us and Olivia. It was SUPER great to just spend time together. Again, Olivia was great...a little fussy to start, but she settled right in.

Olivia loves to be propped up and sit in the corner of the couch to look out. This is new this week. She's MUCH more alert and so fun to play with. I can't wait for Chad to see how much she's been smiling and laughing...he's going to LOVE it!

So, I was supposed to pick Chad up at 10:15pm in Ft. Myers...that didn't happen! He called me to tell me he'd be VERY close on time catching his plane in Miami, but that he thought he'd make it. 10pm rolled around and he still hadn't landed in Miami...finally he called and was not a very happy camper! Instead of staying in Miami he was able to get a rental car and drove over to get her at 2am! Yikes! Olivia was so excited to see him this morning when he got here!

Naples Day 2

6 Hours again on Tuesday night! I was so worried she wouldn't sleep very well since she slept all through dinner - yikes!

Uncle Kyle and my dad were gone Tuesday night and Olivia couldn't wait for them to get back on Wednesday.

Wednesday was a little cooler, so we had several things to get done around town. At night we went to Italian night at our Club so everyone could see Miss O...she was SO GOOD once again! I couldn't ask for her to be any better!

Getting ready to head to dinner...LOVE THIS BOW on her

Great Grandma at dinner

After dinner the guys were home and it was playtime for Olivia! Olivia was a little fussy and has really started to favor mommy (didn't know when that would happen or if it would at all...I'm hoping it's because Chad's not here yet) so my dad and Kyle were trying to play with her and do things the way her dad would...wasn't quite the same!

Dad sitting Olivia on his legs so she can look around.

Kyle squating with Olivia...she likes it when we bend down really low and then pop back up...he's in MUCH better shape than I am!
Unlce Kyle and Olivia playing with her plastic keys. Olivia now holds rattles and the keys and shakes them...we have to pry them out of her hands!

Olivia and Uncle Kyle!

Naples Day 1

Tuesday was our first full day in Naples...it was beautiful! About 76-78, sunny, etc! I thought we'd go out and walk around today, but I didn't anticipate that Olivia wouldn't like the stroller by itself (without her carseat attached to it), so we weren't out too long. We had lunch at the Club and saw Lauren (our friends from Cincinnati)...she's so cute! Lauren always wanted to know "is she happy"...how cute is that?!?! For those of you reading this, please keep Lauren in your prayers, she has some tests coming up and needs all the positive prayer she can get.

Getting ready to head down to the pool...thanks Uncle Dwight for my new outfit!

Lauren and Olivia at the Club...how cute is Lauren??? She really wanted Olivia to get in the pool with her - I told her next time we'll be ready to go!

Last night Olivia slept a full 6 hours and then another 2 after that...this is GREAT! Hoping to get her in a good sleeping routine while down here.

We went to the Yacht Club with Great Grandma and Grandpa tonight and Olivia was GREAT! She slept until it was time to leave and everyone thought she was the cutest thing ever (of course!).

Stay tuned...more to come!

Leaving On A Jet Plane -- Naples Bound!

Yesterday marked Olivia's first commercial flight (I have to say "commercial" because Grandpa Vasel can't wait to give her her first "private" flight)....she did GREAT!!! We flew on Southwest and were really nervous the three of us (me and my mom and dad) wouldn't get a whole row together, but we lucked out! She got her first pair of wings too!

Now let's backtrack to leaving our house...WHO KNEW WE'D HAVE SO MUCH MORE LUGGAGE WITH ONE MORE PERSON UNDER 13 POUNDS!!! Yikes! Thank goodness my parents were with me!

Ok, peeps...I'm ready let's hit it!
This is just the luggage for me and Olivia!

Olivia got to see Uncle Kyle for the first time since January 1st! He couldn't believe how much she'd grown and changed. Aunt Mel comes in on Friday and Olivia can't wait to see her either!

Today we're going to get Olivia outside for the first time for a walk in the stroller (too cold at home to walk the neighborhood still) and then it's our yacht club for lunch and Grandma's for dinner...look for daily posts since Chad won't be here until Thursday...we can't wait!

2 MONTH CHECKUP!!!

Yesterday marked Olivia being with us for 2 months!!! I can't believe it!

Today we had our 2 month checkup and she did great. Olivia is 23" long and is 12.8 pounds...she's in the 75% with both...very proportionate. We got 2 shots and she did great!

To date we are doing the following:

- eating 4 ounces of soy based formula about every 3-4 hours
- sleep 4-6 hours at a time at night (the first time she goes down...we're working on staying to sleep a little longer the second time)
- Olivia's very alert, follows objects, acknowledges when she hears noises and loves to play!
- Currently we love our activity mat, a Tag ball that she can now move around to get the tags in her mouth, does really well with tummy time.
- Holds her head up very well and fights us now on putting it down when we go to burp her.

Things we're very close to and need to work on:

- Almost rolling onto her side (Dr. Light said not to leave her alone anymore since she could very well surprise us and roll over since she's so active)
- Need to figure out how to get her to grab a hold of a rattle (any ideas with this would be great)...she's got a solid grip on our fingers and her bottle when she's eating
- Increasing formula to 5-6 ounces...shouldn't be too hard.

Below are a few photos from our visit...I forgot the camera at her 1 month visit!

On the way to Dr. Light's with Daddy's shades on...it was bright out today!

LET'S GO BILLS!!!

This Saturday was Olivia's first SLU basketball game and she did GREAT!!! I was really nervous because it was really loud since they had everything turned up for the ESPNU game. I do have to say that it was one over time too long for little Miss O, but I was very thankful for how well she did for the three hours we were there....napped during the first half, woke up during halftime and cheered them on during the second half.
This coming Thursday will be Olivia's 2 month birthday (if you can call it that!) and we have our 2 month checkup on Friday...little nervous about all of the shots, but I'm sure it will be fine. AND THEN...in one week we leave for Naples...LOOK OUT UNCLE KYLE AND ALL OUR FRIENDS...HERE WE COME!!! ;)

Little Bill on her butt

Getting ready to leave for the game

Come on guys...I'm ready to go home...let's win it this time!
