4 month Check-up --- Photos to Come!

Today we had our 4 month checkup...Olivia turned 4 months old on Sunday! She's doing great and is a big baby --- 95% in height, weight and head size (I have a large head, sorry Miss O!). Olivia is 26.5 inches long and weighs 15.3 pounds...happy and healthy! We get to start pears anytime we want (Miss O has poo poo problems so we're staying clear of Rice Cereal and applesauce for a little bit ;) ) Dr. Light was VERY pleased with her motor skills...he said she's ahead of where she needs to be and to just keep at it. Olivia wears 6-9 months in onesies and dresses, some 3-6 in separates...I feel like we just keep changing clothing size all the time.

I tried to get her rolling around today on video, BUT she seems to know what the video camera is and just hams it up and follow is around laughing and smiling the whole time...I'll have to figure out something to get it on tape!

Photos to come soon, didn't have time to get them up!

Recapping The Last Two Weeks!

Can you say BUSY?!?!?! Starting the weekend of Easter we have become extremely busy people until July...seriously, we have at least one thing a weekend from here on out.

Now, let's get down to the last two weeks...Olivia is VERY mobile...she's rolling all over the place, although from her back to stomach is just enough for her to move to the toy she wants, wrestle with it and then bring it back with her as she rolls back to her back...it's not a complete roll. From tummy to back she's a pro, however she's decided this week she's bored with that and just looks around the whole time she's on her tummy...hoping this changes soon...it's like she's taunting me! ;)

The weekend of the 11th Mel had the first of her wedding showers...we traveled to Chicago for a beautiful luncheon! Kyle and Mel received so many nice things and it was so great to see her family again (looking forward to seeing everybody this weekend for the shower in Greenville!).

They had everyone bring a recipe to start a recipe box for Mel and Kyle...what a great idea!

The next day Olivia and I left with my mom for Naples for a week to do a little spring cleaning...it was a BUSY, fast trip...the highlight of Olivia's trip was seeing Uncle Kyle!!!! She was so excited...his deep voice throws her for a loop though, but she's getting used to it...can't wait to see him this weekend!

Uncle Kyle..."Fresh" off the golf course!

Play time!

Hey Uncle Kyle, I can help!

Olivia has also had the chance to watch Uncle Ty play ball several times this spring (well, let me define "watching"...sitting in her stroller contently sleeping or playing). We're heading out to St. Charles to catch another game today...don't know how long we'll be able to stay sine little Miss O has her 4 month checkup today (look for another post with updates).

Uncle Ty!

Hopefully I remember/find time to make my posts more regular so I don't leave things out...stay tuned!

WE HAVE A TOOTH!!!

No picture post, but Olivia has her first tooth! I've been telling everyone she's been teething for the last several weeks, but had nothing to show for it...well, not anymore. It just broke the surface and is a sharp little thing...as soon as it's up more we'll have photos to share!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Olivia's first Easter was great...no spit up on her pretty dress, no fussy at all (she had a late night with the hockey game) and a great time with friends and family!

We headed out bright and early to my parent's house since Chad was on-call...Olivia got to see my Grandma and Grandpa Vasel for the first time in a month and a half and they couldn't believe how big she'd gotten!

Olivia LOVES the blankets the the head is a stuffed animal and then the "tails" coming down are silky on one side and fleece like on the other.

Great Grandpa Vasel
how much better she is in just three days since she started using the Bumbo...she's getting straighter and more steady all the time.

Now Jack and Olivia are at the same level!

My Dad really wanted to take Olivia out for a walk...so, he got out the buggy that my Grandma Kamman got for me when I was born (yes, people...30 years ago!)...she was so darn cute in it! Unfortunately the weather wasn't really cooperating...the winds were about 30+ mph and it just wasn't working, but it was a great photo op!

Pre-Easter Photos

Last night before we went to church (our church is so large they have 8 Easter services starting last night...we find it's easier to go with Olivia late in the afternoon/early evening than trying to get up and rush out the door on Sunday). Before that I took the opportunity to capture a few photos with the bunnies she received from Grandma Wrinkle and her Great Grandma Kamman (my mom's mom)...how cute are these?!?!?!

After church Alyssa came over to play with Olivia for a bit...she loves hanging out with Olivia!

First Trip To The Botanical Gardens!

As I mentioned earlier it has been absolutely beautiful in STL! We decided to head out Friday morning to the Botanical Gardens for Olivia's first trip. All of the spring flowers and trees are in full bloom and it couldn't have been prettier...it could have been a little less windy and then Olivia would have enjoyed her walk just a little bit better...the wind seems to take her breath away and she gasps every time it blows in her face.

Enjoy the photos!

The Week Of The BIG 3-0, Rolling Over, Bumbo Seat & MORE!!!

Yup, this week marked my last few days in my 20's...I turned 30 on the 30th! Chad and Olivia gave me a big surprise when I came home from the mall with my mom on Sunday - a group of our friends had gathered for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun and great to catch up with everyone! Thanks to all for coming!!!

Olivia decided she would roll over 3 times on Tuesday from tummy to back...that's the first time she's done and she is not a big fan of doing it. Since then we've gotten a handful more times in and she'll now roll halfway to her tummy from her back....it's all a work in progress, and she's trying so hard.

Towards the end of the week I decided to bust out the Bumbo Seat to see if she could handle it. She LOVES it, although she doesn't sit up the straightest in it. I think it gives her a whole new perspective on the world as she sees it. I laugh when I see her in it.

This week also marked the return into the 80's. We spent an hour one afternoon in the yard. I put Olivia in her bouncy seat under the shade of a tree. She did pretty well and then...she decided she'd had enough and we quickly moved inside :)

You'll also notice my photos MIGHT just look a tad better...thanks to my parents for my GREAT birthday present I now have a new camera...look out Olivia...here I come!
