Drum Roll Please......

So we went to the doctor to find out that our "little buddy" is a....GIRL!!!! We're very excited! The ultrasound technician couldn't believe how much she moved around and had a hard time getting her to settle down...she weighs 12 ounces and is 13.2 cm long...moved my due date to Dec 19th - only 2 days difference. Now the name game begins! (yes, I have ultrasound photos and I'll try and get them up tomorrow)

This past weekend we were super busy! We demoed the house and I have photos of me on the kitchen floor removing all the tile...they'll be up later in the week. The demo work is all done and tomorrow the tile floors and shower start going in...looking to have this all done in 3 weeks...keep your fingers crossed!

That's about all for now...pretty tired (it's about 9pm) and I'm just getting home from running errands after the doctor's appointment. Below is the photo at 19 weeks.

I'm Back!!!

Since it's been so long since the last blog, this is going to be a little lengthy since much has happened.

We've moved (and sold) out of our house and into our friend Carrie's condo for a month...today we closed on the purchase of our new home and we have some "minor" updating to do.

Last weekend we spent some time in Lake Louise/Banff, A

Now, on to what the website is for...I'm in week 19 and starting to feel better. I don't get as sick as often (Thank you!) and I'm starting to feel ok. Chad's excited because I actually feel like going and doing something every now and then (still not as often as he'd like me to be out and about).

Our little "buddy" is moving around all the time now (does a little dance whenever I eat grapes!) and I have a little bump. Monday we are going to the doctor for our ultra sound to find out what we are having...we're so excited and can't wait!

Second Trimester, Heartbeat and More!

So Monday started my second trimester (week 14)...1/3 of the way there! At the time of the doctor's appointment I was feeling a little better, BUT that didn't last long...was pretty sick by mid-week again. Hoping that good days will over take the bad ones.

At the visit we heard the baby's heartbeat...it was VERY fast and good...159 beats per minute! The baby did NOT like the doplar being rolled around it either because it kept moving to try and get away from it. Our next visit is on August 3rd and we have a big ultra sound then...yes, we're finding out what the little one will be and I'm so excited!

Last week we also got a contract on our house, so the house hunt began for us and we have a contract in on a house as well. Both contracts have contingencies until July 3rd, so until that date we don't know anything for sure, but feel pretty good about everything. We'll close on the 23rd of July on our house and then a little later the next week on the new purchase. The home is in the same neighborhood, just a few blocks north of where we are now. Let the fun begin...pregnant and trying to put a new house together...FUN TIMES!

Next week our friend Doug comes to visit AND it's our 1 year anniversary! I can't believe it's already here...more to come next week with fun events next week!

12 WEEKS!

So, yesterday was the start of my 12th week (no photos this time...I haven't changed much). Rumor has it that things may start to get better soon, but after this past weekend I'm not so sure...I really didn't know someone could be this sick!

I was thinking today about the thing I miss the most...Diet Coke...I used to love that stuff! I think it will be the first thing I ask for after the little one comes. Along with missing Diet Coke, I don't like much of anything...no more love for burgers and fries...hate ice cream at this point...like I said, there's not really much that I do like right now, AND if I do, it's not for more than a few days (I hear this will get better soon). If anyone has any advice at all on this, PLEASE let me know.

Next doctor's appointment is on the 22nd...can't wait to see what they have to say!

Surprise!

Surprise all!!! As many of you know, Chad and I don't do things slowly...engaged in 6 months, married 6 months after that AND expecting a little one 9 months after that! We are both so excited, but didn't expect it to happen so quickly...we were just going to "start trying" :) What can I say, my husband is a STUD!!! (this is Chad, not me)

Now to answer the many questions...

When are you due? December 21st (obviously I didn't think about the due date when we started trying...Merry Christmas!)

How have you been feeling? Not very good...it's been a rough 10 weeks, but I am hoping it gets better soon. Chad is definitely hoping it gets better soon, but he's been a real trooper through the whole thing. Love you, babe!

Doctor's visits? We've had 2...one at 6 weeks and one at 9 weeks. Last week was the ultrasound and everything looked very good! Strong heartbeat, "uterus is growing nicely", etc...Although we still have a little while until we're totally in the clear, the doctor thinks everything is going very well. I go back in another 5 weeks and then every 4 weeks after that...exciting times!

I'll try to update regularly with doctor's visits and photos when I start showing...keep positive thoughts for us...we could have a busy summer and fall if we ever sell this house!
